CSUSM’s Gala Promises Top Entertainment April 26

The annual gala for California State University San Marcos won’t feature Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Whitney Houston, Patsy Cline or the Doors, but it does promise the next best thing: The Mar Dels, San Diego’s best-known nostalgia band.

Since 1982, this popular seven-piece group has been performing dynamic renditions of the best music from the 50's - 70's. The band has now expanded its repertoire to include select hits from the 80's and 90's as well as swing standards from the 40's.

The band will join internationally known variety artist and comedian Chris Bliss to entertain an estimated 300 CSUSM guests Saturday, April 26 in the Aragon Ballroom of the Rancho Bernardo Inn, 17550 Bernardo Oaks Drive, San Diego.

Themed Celebrate in 2008, the gala will raise critically important discretionary funds to support professional development for faculty, research and student programming and services at CSUSM. Cost is $275 per ticket, a portion of which may be tax deductible.
