200 Business and Community Leaders Expected at Senior Experience Trade Show/Reception
More than 200 business and community leaders are expected at the Cal State San Marcos Senior Experience Trade Show Thursday, May 15 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido, 340 N. Escondido Blvd.
About 200 senior level business students from CSUSM will also be on hand to display and discuss the “real world” projects they have been working on for the past semester, projects ranging from customer analysis and marketing to business operations. Forty-eight companies participated, including San Diego Gas and Electric, Biggs Harley Davidson, Dimension One Spas, Submarina and Stone Brewery.
The evening will also commemorate a milestone: on completion of the current semester, the program will have completed 15 years of service with more than a thousand projects involving over 400 regional companies and organizations and an estimated 4,400 students.
A required course for all business majors at CSUSM, Senior Experience puts student teams to work on real world business problems for both profit and non-profit organizations, explained Dennis Guseman, dean of the College of Business Administration. “In 15 years, 92 percent of our clients have rated themselves either “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with the results.
“As the only program of its kind in the country, I think we have reason to celebrate,” said Guseman.
Local business leaders are invited to attend and admission is free. For more information, contact Jim Hamerly, Senior Experience Program director, at 760 750-4266 or email: jhamerly@csusm.edu
