2008 African American Recognition Ceremony and Support–May 6
The African American Recognition Planning Committee extends an invitation to the 2008 African American Recognition Ceremony, which will be held on Tuesday, May 6, starting at 6 p.m. in the Clarke Field House Grand Salon. In keeping with African tradition, each graduate will be presented with a Kente cloth, signifying heritage, achievement and excellence. Those interested may sponsor a graduate(s) by purchasing this commemorative cloth. RSVP to Deborah Davis at CSUSM Foundation, along with your donation by May 2, 2008. American Indian Student Alliance Recognition Ceremony—May 6
The American Indian Student Alliance, the Tribal Communities Initiatives Task Force and the Native Advisory Council are pleased to host the Annual Graduates Honoring Ceremony to recognize and honor the achievements of Native American graduating students with gifts and a blessing. Asian Pacific Islander Graduation Recognition Ceremony—May 14

Faculty Mentoring Program Year End Celebration—May 2
The Faculty Mentoring Program (FMP) invites all the participants in the FMP to the Year End Celebration in honor of graduating students for fall 2007 and spring 2008 at CSUSM. The ceremony will take place on Friday, May 2, from 3 to 5 p.m. in Commons 206. FMP asks all mentors to join us to celebrate the protégés great accomplishments. The Latino Association of Faculty & Staff (LAFS) and Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MEChA) invite you to their annual 2008 Raza Recognition Ceremony in honor of the Latino/a graduating class of 2008 at Cal State San Marcos. Trio Student Support Services and the Educational Opportunity Program Recognition Ceremony—May 16
Trio Student Support Services and the Educational Opportunity Program (SSS and EOP) will honor their 2008 graduates in a Recognition Ceremony on Friday, May 16, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Clarke Field House Grand Salon. Students and their families will enjoy dinner, followed by a program of individual student recognition and the presentation of SSS/EOP stoles, tassels, and certificates. All students will have the opportunity to speak for a few moments to thank those who have supported their education. In addition, one student from each program has been selected as Senior Excellence Award recipients and will deliver formal speeches.
