Senator Mark Wyland (R-Carlsbad) honored 38th district constituent Carol Bonomo as the Woman of the Year for 2008. Bonomo was recognized in the annual Woman of the Year ceremony that celebrates extraordinary women up-and-down California who make a difference in their communities.

North County, a play about a “side of life in North San Diego County rarely seen or discussed,” will be presented nightly, March 25-29, starting at 8 p.m. in Room 111 of Arts Hall at Cal State San Marcos. Admission is $5 for students with school identification and $10 general admission.

An estimated 300 families and 40 organizations will participate in the first annual Recreation and Wellness Expo Wednesday, April 2, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Clarke Field House. The public is invited. Admission and parking is free.
